The 32nd Bosphorus Intercontinental Swimming Competition was held on August 23
On August 23, the 32nd Bosphorus Intercontinental Swimming Competition organized by the Turkish National Olympic Committee was held in Istanbul. A total of 765 athletes participated in the competition.
Due to COVID-19, this event is special. The swimmers will cross the Bosphorus Strait to complete the race without any spectators.
On July 15th,swimmers began to dive into the waterway from the Kanleka Pier on the side of the city.

The starting point of the competition was organized with three different boats within the scope of sanitary measures. These include three different starting points, spread out on the boat to provide swimmers with a safe social distance. Many ships on duty also accompany swimmers along the channel.

Hilal Zeynep Sara won the women's team championship with a time of 47 minutes and 52 seconds; Ilgon Celik with a time of 48 minutes and 13 seconds In second place; Sudenaz akmak (Sudenaz akmak) finished thirdly with a time of 48 minutes and 46 seconds.
Mustafa Serenay won the first place in the men's category with 46 minutes and 1 second; Atahan Kirei finished secondly with 46 minutes and 20 seconds ; Atakan Malgil (Atakan Malgil) ranked third with 47 minutes and 31 seconds.
In last year's competition, a total of about 2,400 swimmers from 59 countries participated. At that time, Turkish swimmer Melikah Düen won the men's championship and Celik won the women's championship.
