November 25, the 2020 National Diving Coach Training Class started in Suzhou. This training course was undertaken by Suzhou Yuanyi Diving Center and held at Suzhou Sports School. The training lasted for 5 days, divided into online teaching and site teaching, and a total of 12 trainees participated. Diving is a sport that requires certain professional skills to participate in. It is classified by the way of diving and is mainly divided into free diving (breath-hold diving) and scuba diving (self-carried diving). Diving is a necessary skill for people to explore the vast and mysterious ocean. Today, with the improvement of people’s quality of life, it is a social demand to be able to explore the sea and see the magical landscape of the sea. 　

In order to ensure the safe development of diving activities, both the World Diving Federation and the China Diving Federation put compliance with scientific and rigorous teaching and assessment standards in the first place. Participants of this national training class already have certain diving teaching skills and experience. However, in order to ensure the safe and healthy development of diving in China, in accordance with the “National Regulations on the Development of Diving Activities” promulgated by the country in 2001, all diving coaches in China must pass the national diving coach training and pass the examination before being certified. 　　

This event "China Diving Association" selected teacher Yuan Dong who has rich teaching experience to be responsible for training and assessment. The Confdration Mondiale des Activits Subaquatiques (CMAS) is the only official diving organization recognized by the International Olympic Committee and the only international organization qualified to organize all diving competitions worldwide.

During the training period, the trainees will learn relevant systems and standard knowledge in accordance with the training and assessment requirements of CMAS and China Diving Federation. At the same time, they will review and assess various professional theoretical knowledge, skills and diving teaching skills of diving. 　　

In 2021, the China Diving Federation will update and announce the national training standards for divers and diving coaches. At the same time, it will conduct more rigorous skills training for domestic diving coaches; ensure the safe and healthy development of diving in China and provide the society with a higher quality diving experience.
